1. How should I train for Xpedition Chattanooga?
Here’s a sample training plan for completing the entire race, but we encourage you to cater it according to your unique skillset and fitness levels.
2. Who can participate in Xpedition Chattanooga?
The event is open to anyone over 18 years old who wants to push their limits. Solo and team options are available.
3. How long will the event take?
Participants should expect to complete the course in 4–6 hours, depending on fitness level and pace.
4. What should I bring?
Running shoes
Swimwear
Recommended: goggles, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a change of clothes for after the event.
5. Will there be aid stations?
Yes, aid stations with water, snacks, and first aid will be located at key points along the course.
6. What is the refund policy?
All registrations are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your spot to another participant up to 2 weeks before the event.
7. What happens if the event is canceled?
In the unlikely event of a cancellation, participants will be refunded or offered a deferral to a future Xpedition event.
8. Is the course beginner-friendly?
The event is designed to challenge experienced athletes. Participants should be prepared for a mix of swimming, running, and rucking over significant distances in addition to standard functional fitness movements like burpees, pull-ups, and more.
9. Can I register as a team?
Yes - You can choose between two team options:
Relay (Team of 3): Split the race among teammates. Each member completes a different portion of the course (e.g., one swims, one runs, one rucks).
Squad (Team of 3): All team members complete the entire course. Functional fitness elements, like pull-ups and burpees, can be divided among teammates (e.g., 100 pull-ups total; one member does 60, the other two do 20 each).
10. What’s the cost for team registration?
Relay (Team of 3):
Early Registration: $600
Standard Registration: $1,000
Squad (Team of 3):

11. When and where is packet pickup?
Packet pickup will be on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 PM (**location TBD and times subject to change)
12. What’s the weather like in May?
Chattanooga in May typically has mild temperatures, ranging from 55–75°F.
13. Who is organizing this event?
The Xpeditions founding team is comprised of proud Chattanooga, TN residents who have a passion for the city and extensive professional & athletic experience across collegiate/pro sports, US military, Ironman, Crossfit, ultra-marathons, adventure races, and more.
